Udah ah, capek nulis pake bahasa Inggris. Itu juga yang diatas ga tau grammar-nya bener atau ga.

Yang buat gw suka ama lagu ini karena musiknya yang beda dari lagu solo Xiah Junsu yang lain (sebut saja Beautiful Things dan Rainy Night). Musiknya juga ga terlalu Korea, agak-agak western gitu kali ya. Trus ringan dan renyah. But, hey! It's Xiah Junsu! Jadi meskipun musiknya ringan dan renyah vokalnya tetep mantep. Piso Surit adalah lagu tradisional suku karo (karo itu termasuk sub dari suku batak).

Piso dalam bahasa karo sebenarnya berarti pisau dan banyak orang mengira bahwa Piso Surit merupakan nama sejenis pisau khas orang karo. Sebenarnya Piso Surit adalah nama sejenis burung yang suka bernyanyi. Kicau burung ini bila didengar secara seksama sepertinya sedang memanggil-manggil seseorang dan kedengaran sangat menyedihkan. Tarian Piso Surit adalah tarian yang menggambarkan seorang gadis yang sedang menantikan kedatangan kekasihnya. Penantian tersebut sangat lama dan menyedihkan dan digambarkan seperti burung Piso Surit yang sedang memanggil-manggil.

maap ya, agak susah ngartiin perkalimat. secara saia orang Karo yang besar diperantauan dan tidak dibiasakan berbahasa karo di rumah.

kalo secara per bait, artinya sbb:

Lagu-lagu tersebut biasanya mengingatkan para pemuda untuk selalu menomorsatukan kepentingan rakyat di atas kepentingan pribadi. Bahkan salah satu lagu ciptaannya menggambarkan seorang pemuda yang berkata kepada kekasihnya untuk menunggu sampai Indonesia mendapatkan kemerdekaannya baru mereka dapat naik ke pelaminan.

di tahun 2000-an (saia lupa tepatnya kapan), lagu ini diaransemen ulang oleh Vicky Sianipar dan menggandeng Mega Sihombing sebagai penyanyi. tapi nyokap saia kurang sreg ama penyanyinya, soalnya ini kan lagu karo, nah si Mega ini orang batak. jadi, kata nyokap saia pronounciation-nya (halah!) gak pas. tapi tetep siy, buat saia itu keren.soalnya piano-nya bikin lagunya terdengar lebih modern tapi suara alat musik tradisional-nya (saia lupa namanya) tetep ada. dan saia makin suka ama lagi ini.

kenapa 'purple' ?

saia suka banget ama lagu DBSK yang judulnya 'Purple Line'. selain karena yang nyanyi adalah mereka (apa siy?) iramanya yang nge-beat itu asyik banget buat goyang (bukan goyang dangdut lho!) daaan yang pasti bikin semangat.

tapi tapi tapi, timbul pertanyaan saia (ciee...), kenapa mereka make 'ungu' a.k.a 'purple' sebagai judul?? kenapa gak 'red line' aja (koq jadi aneh ya, klo judulnya 'red line'?), secara merah itu lebih menggambarkan semangat! atau 'yellow line', karena kuning itu adalah warna yang berarti ceria dan pemberi semangat (tapi kalo 'yellow line' berarti garis polisi donggg (apa siy?))...

berhubung lagi mood untuk googling kesana kemari, jadilah saia menghabiskan waktu (gak lama koq, gak nyampe 1 jam) untuk nyari tentang arti warna. udah agak nyerah juga nyarinya, soalnya artikel yang ditemuin gak sesuai dengan yang saia maksud. setelah googling pake keyword "arti warna", "kenapa purple line" (yang akhirnya memunculkan lirik lagu dan MV nya), "why purple line" (gak beda ama "kenapa purple line"), sampe saia nyoba dengan key "why dbsk choose purple line as title" (ngaco beud daahh. haha). tapi tetep aja gak ketemu. ujung-ujungnya saia nyoba pake bahas inggris juga, tapi agak lebih masuk akal, yaitu "the meaning of purple"...

apakah langsung ketemu?? tidak! tapi paling gak, saia menemukan arti warna ungu yang lebih masuk akal. kalo dari artikel bahasa Indonesia saia mendapatkan arti kalo ungu itu adalah warna yang angkuh, penuh harapan, bangsawan dan lain-lain. kan gak nyambung dong ama lagu 'purple line'?

nah, pas googling yang pake "the meaning of purple" itu, meskipun gak semua artikelnya saia buka, tapi dari kalimat-kalimat awal di setiap artikel dibilang kalo purple itu adalah warna yang melambangkan tentang religius.
